A fire rebuild is a construction project with three extra layers: your insurance claim, a damaged structure that must be assessed before anything is promised, and stricter code requirements than the original house was built under. Here is how we handle each.
Before any estimate, we evaluate what the fire, heat, smoke, and firefighting water did to the framing, foundation, roof structure, and utilities. Heat can weaken framing that looks intact. Water used to fight the fire causes its own damage. You get a written scope of what must be replaced and what can be saved.
Your claim depends on documentation. We prepare detailed scopes of work, line-item budgets, and photo records in the format adjusters work with. We do not negotiate your claim for you, but our documentation gives your adjuster what they need and gives you a clear record if numbers are disputed.
Hollywood Hills sits largely within a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Rebuilds must meet current California Building Code Chapter 7A requirements for wildfire-exposed construction: ember-resistant vents, ignition-resistant exterior materials, and tempered glazing among them. Hillside lots add their own structural and access requirements. We design and build to these standards from the first drawing, so plan check does not send you backward.
Fire rebuild budgets collapse when contractors bill open-ended change orders against an insurance payout. Our Guaranteed Maximum Price works the other way: the total cost is capped in the contract before construction starts, every line item is visible, and we absorb overages. When your rebuild budget is tied to a claim settlement, a capped price is not a luxury. It is the difference between finishing and stalling.
Single-family homes and hillside residences. Multi-unit residential buildings. Commercial buildings and mixed-use structures. Partial rebuilds: roof structures, framing sections, interiors, and full smoke-damage reconstruction.
Most partial rebuilds run 4 to 8 months. Full rebuilds of hillside homes typically run 12 to 18 months including design and permitting. The structural assessment gives you a project-specific timeline before you commit.
That depends on your policy limits and settlement, which are between you and your insurer. What we control is documentation that supports your claim and a Guaranteed Maximum Price that stops the budget from drifting past it.
Yes. Rebuilds are permitted under current code, not the code your home was originally built under. In Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones that includes Chapter 7A wildfire-resistant construction requirements. We build these in from the start.
We prepare scopes, budgets, and records in the format adjusters use, and we walk the site with your adjuster when asked. We are your contractor, not a public adjuster, and we are transparent about that line.
Your total project cost is capped in writing before we break ground. Every line item is visible. If costs run over, we absorb them, not you.
